Just have some questions about this particular line of boards. MS-7336 and MS-7336-010 seem to be the same board. So which bios is the newest version for the P6NGM-FD board?
And what is the different between that and the P6NGM? I have two of these boards. One purchased from Fry's Electronics the other was Purchased from NewEgg.com. Frys MB: Bios Version 1.0 / Updated to Version 1.1 Problems: Does not shutdown system from Vista. Intermitent Problems with the PCI-E Slot, aka if you reset the bios system fails to post at all. No Beeps, it just sits flashing, until you remove the PCI-E card. Once you resetup the bios options and put the card back it works fine.
Which is definitely strange behavior in my opinion. In addition after the 1.1 Bios Flash there have been several other problems with the External Video Card, including it shutting off during normal operations. Unrelated problem you can flash this bios on this board with the Bios Update from the P6NGM and it does work. It will no longer post with onboard video but all PCI-E related problems stop. NewEgg MB: Bios Version 2.0??? This board is running bios version 2.0 and is labeled as a P6NGM-FD with PCB Version 1.0, how is this possible? So where exactly is the list of Bios Releases for these boards.
Since MSI.com.tw has no record of the P6NGM-FD, it is on the MSIComputer site, but not bios information again. What exactly is the deal with this set of boards, one ships with a 2.0 bios which does not exist evidently.
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. Mh, this is generally not a good idea. The three boards use different variations of the NVidia MCP73 Chipset: - P6NGM-FIH - BIOS v1.x latest BIOS = v1.1 - MCP73 U FIH - GB Lan+1394+HDMI+D-Sub - P6NGM-FD - BIOS v2.x latest BIOS = v2.0 - MCP73 PV FD - GB Lan+DVI+D-Sub - P6NGM-L - BIOS v3.x latest BIOS = v3.2 - MCP73 V L - 10/100 Lan+D-Sub If you flash the wrong BIOS, you may end up with a dead board or impact its functionality. Although all these BIOS Version are based on each other, they are not identical. Another thing you should know is, that BIOS v1.10 for the FIH-board is actually newer (12/05/07) than BIOS v2.0 for the FD-board (10/25/07). I strongly suggest not to use BIOS v2.0 on your FIH-board. BIOS v1.1 is the latest BIOS for the P6NGM-FIH board.
There is no official version that is newer than that.
